A. Don't wait for too long if baby's diarrhoea is not getting controlled...dehydration is risky for babies ...if he is not drinking water and situation is getting out of control do visit the doctor before his body starts dehydrating.

A. I faced the same issue with my 10 month old baby...when I visited the doctor he said it's a viral infection which will go away in 4 to 5 days...he prescribed me some antibiotic and other cough and syrups for controlling loose motions... but you know what finally worked ..I got my baby discharged from hospital after 3 days of treatment because she was still facing the fever and other symtoms and finally I gave her sauf water( boil one teaspoon sauf in 1 cup water) for 5 mins and give few drops 5 to 10 to your baby( twice a day)..finally this home remedy helped me treating acute diarrhoea and for cold I gave her steam thrice a day. she is all fine within 2 days of this treatment.

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which n SCeeds treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
