Q.

my 1 yr 2 months old girl child likes to watch Cartoon rhymes like loo loo kids, Dave and ava, very much on YouTube. my question is, what is the psychological impact or changes on the baby's behaviour? will this habit reduce eventually or should we start reducing her to watch it. We try to play Cartoon only while we are feeding. she is very happy and active while watching it she also dances while watching it! can you please suggest how can we handle this situation?

A. Any kind of screen whether it is TV or phone or tab or laptop or computer should not be shown or given to the baby before two years of age. It will impact the baby in many ways. It will hurt the baby's eyes, slow the brain development, baby will lack fine and gross motor skills, baby will not explore the world around him, will become a fussy eater and many more. After two years limited screen time (half an hour to maximum one hour) may be helpful. But before two years screen time is totally not necessary. Also instead of showing rhymes u can tell stories to the child while feeding.
