my 1 year oldbaby is having cold and running nose but no cough do I need to give cough medicine

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy3 years agoA. cough and cold medicine is given according to the requirement and examination so do not give any medicine without medical consultation. if given without consultation coughing medicine can aggravate the problem. you can go for home remedies like tulsi ginger (honey is added when child is more than 1 year of age) combination which can be diluted with water and given frequently to the child. also you caan give turmeric with milk one or two times everyday. give warm water to drink as well as nasal saline drops frequently. give warm diet try to prevent temperature variations around the child that is from hot to cold and cold to hot environment

NikithaMom of a 10 yr 11 m old boy3 years agoA. hellp if child as no cough then medication for it is not really required and you should give nasal drops and give medicine for cold and it is better to check with your doctor and your doctor will be able to guide you better on examination of the same and advise you accordingly
