Q.

Mere baby ko Monday se fever hai to mere dr ne azithral antibiotic diya.. abhi usko kal se fever nahi aaya. Aaj use 3 times aaj latrine Kiya wo bhi liquid Jaisa aur body temperature hai uska aaj 99.6. 99.6 is fever or not. may visit to doctor or not. use nind bhi aarahi hai.

A. dr uska temp up down ho raha hai 99.6 to kabhi 98.9 to 98.2 ho raha hai.

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeatexed after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequafte fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .
