Q.

#Mamaxpert Hello Doctor, I had been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (TSH level was slightly increased, Free T3 T4 value was normal) during my pregnancy and I’m on Thyroxine since then. I’m continuing even now since I’m breast feeding the baby. Should I continue the same or is it okay to discontinue ?

A. thyroid medicine should not be avoided however it is advisable to speak with your doctor once if you can continue it while breastfeeding your little one as the medication is also passed on to your child when you feed your baby
