Q.

last week we got a call from local govt aasha worker asking for vitamin vaccination Every 6 months from 2yrz to 5 years... and she said it's only in govt dispensery and will not be available in private hospitals. Is there anything like this?please advise

A. that is vit a usually vitamin a deficiency can occur in children if the diet is not proper. in maintenance dosage it is usually given at the end of 9 months and then at the end of 15 months and then between 4 years to 5 years of age and usually given along with mmr vaccination. in between any extra dosage is required or not will be decided by the doctor.
