Is that ok to use vicks or baby vicks for cold, cough and sneezing

ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist7 years agoA. use after 3 months. avoid cold climate, cold winds. give plenty of feeds , adequate rest to the baby. indirect steam , hot water bath will also help. consult your paediatrician if baby is feeding less, excessively drowsy or if cold increases. post illness babies might be cranky , irritable. nose block congestion also result in loss of appetite, difficult sucking. try different head up feeding position. feed by spoon otherwise. Maintain hygiene. if bottle feeding, maintain sterility as its a common source of infections.

Nasal Congestion and runny nose are the main indicators of a cold. Keep feeding your baby well, give indirect steam or use humidifier, put saline nasal drops. You can prevent it by keeping your baby away from the person who is suck, wash your hands before handling the baby, clean baby's toys and pacifier often
