Q.

Is pacifier bad for babies even if properly sterilized after every use? My baby is 6 months old. He didn't use to sleep at night even for half an hour. Since a month, I give him a pacifier and he sleeps within 15 minutes.

A. You should definitely strive to sterilize your baby's pacifiers at least once per month, but you should sanitize pacifiers daily. Sanitizing is when you eliminate enough of the microorganisms on an object for it to be considered “safe.”Dirty pacifiers can also spread thrush, a common fungal infection that causes white patches and uncomfortable sores in the baby's mouth.
