Q.

Is newborn baby jaundice contagious.. Actually I am visiting a relative of mine who just had a baby who is suffering from jaundice and I am taking my 10 month old baby with me...What are the precaution to be taken please suggest

A. Hi! Newborn jaundice is not due to infection in majority of cases and is not contagious. So it is unlikely your child getting jaundice due to contact with another newborn having jaundice. Newborn jaundice is mostly physiological due to either prematurity or inadequate feeding. thanks.

A. hello...jaundice is not contagious...not to worry...just maintain hygiene that would be sufficient

A. no it is not contagious but yes it is always better to avoid taking your baby along with you to the hospital
