Is it true that anterior fontanelle closes fast if oil is filled and massaged in it?

ExpertAlapati HariPaediatrician6 years agoA. Hi, no it has nothing to do with massages of the head. As the bones fuse the AF closes. Usually it closes by 18 months. If it is delayed or the size does not correspond to the age need to be supplemented with vitamin D and calcium. It’s better to visit your baby doctor.

The posterior fontanelles close after about six to eight weeks after birth.
The anterior fontanelle, on the other hand, takes a little longer to close, what with a duration of about 18 to 20 weeks, which is a good one year after the birth of the child.
