Q.
Is it ok to shave baby's head as per custom. In our culture it is customary to shave 18 months old baby after birth. I am concerned if this process affects the baby's hair growth in any way. Is there any scientific cause supporting this custom?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. many times irritation of the scalp can help in increasing the hair growth but it is not always present. you should follow the rituals and customs only if the child and you are comfortable with it

Maintain a good personal hygiene for your baby. Regularly apply pure coconut oil or almond oil. Give your baby a well balanced healthy diet and keep hydrated. Good luck and take care.
