Give tummy time to baby as by doing so baby quickly starts crawling. Massage his legs with badam Rogan from hamdard. Keep his favorite toys at a distance and encourage him to reach them

Yes it can protect the baby's knees but it is better to exopose and let them identify how to protect themselves from getting hurt. Protecting the baby everytime makes them dependent on these
