is it good or safe to let my 5months baby wear a gold chain on his neck on regular basis for 24 hrs?

Q. hai.. my baby girl have gold hip chain..recently it becomes very tight..making wound on hip...so I just remove chain...and free her.but nowdays my in law says it must to wear hip chain..so go for a silver chain...but I don't like silver one..on my skin it makes black color on hip..so I don't wear now any hip chain..but mother in law says it should wear a silver chain for baby..or a black thread as a chain..but black thread baby is already made allergies to her like skin infection..so I complled by mother in law's for a silver one...but I don't actually like...is there any benefits to wearing hip chain for baby? or any drawback s for using hip chain..any medical issues?
