A. No, cow milk is not recommended for a 6-month-old baby. At this age, your baby’s digestive system is still developing, and cow milk has high levels of protein and minerals that can be too hard on the kidneys. It also lacks the right balance of nutrients, especially iron, and can increase the risk of iron-deficiency anemia. For now, continue with breast milk or infant formula as the main source of nutrition. You can start offering soft solids like mashed fruits, rice cereal, or moong dal water, but cow milk should only be introduced after 1 year of age, unless advised otherwise by your pediatrician.
