Q.

is convulsion due to fever avoidable? last 2 times when baby got fever he got convulsion.

A. this condition is also known as febrile seizures(fits/convulsions) many times prophylaxis medicines to decrease the chances of seizures is given by the doctor which may contain anti seizures medicine as well as anti seizures nasal spray. meet your doctor who will tell you how to use this medicines in an emergency. at the same time it is important to get the child vaccinated for all important infectious disease as well as flu vaccine which will decrease the chancesr of fever in your child this disease does not usually occur after completion of 5 years of age at the time of initiation of fever it is important to give fever medicines immediately as well as give sponge bath to decreased the chances of seizures.

A. Yes it can be due to high fever in the fever is more than 103°F sometimes a child and face a problem like this and it can happen but it is not considered a good sign so in that case if it is happening occasionally or every time when the child gets fever please consult your doctor
