Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations. cold sponging of the whole body with tap watergj can be beneficihal too to bring the temperature down .

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 9 yr 1 m old boy3 years agoA. A fever is an elevated body temperature with these readings: Rectal, Forehead or Ear temperature: 100.4° F (38.0° C) or higher. Under the arm (armpit) temperature: 99° F (37.2° C) or higher.
