I’m breastfeeding my 4month old baby. Can I color my hair? Can I get Highlights done ?

A. There is no proved theory that colouring your hair while breastfeeding is harmful for baby. But in the end it's your decision. Just take some precautions. Highlighting is completely safe. Since only certain parts of hair will be coloured. Make sure the colour doesn't touch your scalp to minimize all chances of chemical being absorbed into bloodstream. Use ammonia free colour. Do an allergy test first because post delivery our body might react differently to products which you might have used earlier. And yes your baby might not like the smell post hair colouring which might affect nursing. If your choose to colour make sure you keep your scalp healthy as in most cases postpartum hairfall happens 3-4 months postpartum.
