I m a feeding mother of 6month baby, may I take a covid vaccine. Is it affected milk production and health of my baby.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Covid vaccination like covishield/ covaxin in the breastfeeding mothers can be given very safely .
According to the latest guidelines issued by healthy ministry pregnant women can also be now safely given the current available vaccines . so they can also register at covin app.
Minor complications like fever lethargy pain at injection site can be handled safely by taking paracetamol .
Presxdently chcildren are not included in this list.
Mothers can feed their child as soon as required after the vaccination very safely with no side effects in the child

Yes u can take.
It is safe for the breast feeding mothers to take covid vaccine. There is no problem in that. U can continue to breast feed ur baby after taking covid vaccine. Take care
