HomeQuestions & AnswersI introduced books to my kid long back when he was a month old... we don't read as such at a specific time, but we do play, turn pages, look at pictures, etc..
now at 23 months he asks for specific books from his shelf and turns pages and plays. is it that he is starting to get interested in books now? should I just let it be or start reading at a specific time everyday..(which is difficult in a nuclear setup). how should I inculcate the reading habit to him, he doesn't have patience to listen to what I read as well..

Shaista TarannumMom of a 17 yr old boy7 years agoA. read with him...explain the pictures to him. you will be surprised how he will get into this habit. this is one habit even we started early and we are glad about it. you will be amazed at their vocabulary. we used read each book 20 times. register wirh a library and keep borrowing books. some people think it's too early...but trust me its the right time.

Shaista TarannumMom of a 17 yr old boy7 years agoA. reading before going to bed in the night is one of the best practices. read and read over the book that he wants to again and again. it will generate a lot of interest. at this stage looking at pictures and repeating even a few words is sufficient.
