shilpi BhandariMom of 4 children5 years agoA. They are common and usually form during ovulation. Ovulation happens when the ovary releases an egg each month. Many women with ovarian cysts don't have symptoms. The cysts are usually harmless.An ovarian cyst may need to be removed if it is: Suspected of being cancerous the chances are more likely in older woman. Large more than 2.5 inches in diameter.
