Q.

I had given my 2yr old son albendazole in April 2021. Now I feel again he has got worm infestation as he is having diarrhoea and not eating at all. Can I give him albendazole again?

A. Please consult your doctor if the situation does not improve within a day or two for proper diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Gooseberry helps reduce the water content of stools.

A. Albendazole should be given once in every 6 months. Give ORS. Ensure feeding every 3 to 4 hours. Give foods like banana mash with milk, boiled potato mash, bland porridge of rice, soft and tender beets and carrots, curd or flavoured yoghurt. You can also offer coconut water. Mashed apple slices can help improve diarrhoea. A tsp of turmeric taken with warm water is helpful.
