#AskTheExpert I gave 1.5ml of piriton cs 100ml syrup for my one and half years old baby for cold and cough . Is this good or not.

A. any weather change can give your baby mild cold, cough and congestion so learn some handy tips -every time antibiotics are not needed. -give nasivion or nasoclear saline drops for congestion. - give indirect steam inhalation , means steam should not go directly in baby s nose but you should put in a steamer in a closed room so that steam is in the surrounding. -If does nt get better or you feel baby has abnormal breathing sounds then see ur doc as soon as you can for auscultation n examination. -applying any vaporubs in baby s nose is not advised. - for dry cough no medicine is advised ,

A. hi mom. please do not give any medicines without the prescription of the pediatrician, as the dosage and action of the medicine can be entirely different. you can try some home remedies specially during this covid situation cold and cough can be reduced with simple home remedies, few among them are below , try only one at a time. Ginger juice and betel leaf juice and honey which is best for the cold. another one is take a cup of water along with betel leaves, indian borage leaves, and tulsi leaves , all washed nicely before use.add little peppercorns, boil it nicely until the water is reduced to half. filter it and feed the child when it is warm. give steam to the baby two times a day and also use nasal saline drops
