Q.

I feel vibrating sound when I place my hands on my baby's back. When checked with my pediatrician, he said that saliva is blocked in my baby's nasal passage and given nasal drops. I am administering it to my baby as per his suggestion but still I feel the 'ghhur,.. Ghhur' sound when I pat her back. How to get rid of this?

A. noisy breathing are very common in the new born babies... as their body is still developing... so their lungs are also developing... their lungs are very small and don't have more capacity to hold more.. so they breathe fast and not in rythamatic pattern.... also their breathing seems to be noisy many a times due to their saliva gathered in the mouth and .. unlike the adults they cannot swallow their saliva properly.. so when they breathe through the saliva.. it makes the noisy breath... so don't worry too much.. it's normal... the baby will grow out of it as their lungs develop... many a times the pediatrician can prescribed saline drops .... but it can not be helpful in all the cases... but don't worry too much... It is completely normal... baby will grow out of it.. keep the baby in elevated position while sleeping.. use horse shoe pillow .... also check for cold and congestion.. sometimes the cold and congestion can increase the noisy breathing...
