Q.

I am using nipple shield to breast feed as the baby doesnot latch easily. Is that OK from baby and mother s point??

A. I also used nipple shield..the baby started getting used to it and did not latch directly so try correcting latch as it will any way hurt with shield if the latch is bad. Just that it will be less pain and nipple will be protected. If you work on latch the nipple will not pain as that area gets quickly healed so the sore nipple should be fine. Use the breasts alternately to feed as milk deposits can cause further issues. All this my experience and side by side you can apply nipcare cream after every feed on your nipple so they don't dry up. Good luck :)

A. yes it is ok for both of you.. but you should keep trying to feed directly sometimes.. also sterilized the nipple shield regularly
