Q.

I am 29 weeks of pregnancy.i have gestational diabeties.can you tell me the correct values of blood sugars. will you explain the diet?

A. Namaste Mam, Blood sugar levels in such cases normal around > 92 mg /dl 1 hour glucose level - > 180 2 hour - > 153 mg /dl high sugar level above 130 to 140 mg/dl inidcates gestational diabetes avoid sugary foods, refined and processed foods, have small meals, control on portion size of carbohydarte rich foods such as white rice. wheat etc have millets , brown rice, or par boiled rice. oats dals, whole legumes such as rajma, chana , lobia etc fruits have citrus , apple, melons , gauva, pomogrante etc limit on high sugar raising fruits such as banana , chikku, custard apple etc have ample amount of green leafy vegetables, ladies finger, beans , cabbage etc limit in roots and tubers such as potatoes , carrots , sweet potatoes , yam etc
