Q.

I am 26weeks pregnant my doctor suggested gct 2hrs 75mg test and HbA1c test because in 25th week scan baby was weighing above 1kg gct = 110 mg/dl HbA1c = 7.3% and 163 mg/dl mean these results are confusing as one is within range and other shows I have diabetes can someone tell me do I have gestational diabetes and should take medicines ?

A. This may be tablets – usually metformin – or insulin injections. Your blood sugar levels can increase as your pregnancy progresses, so even if they improve at first, you may need to take medicine later in pregnancy. You can usually stop taking these medicines after you give birth.
