Q.

I accidentally cut my baby's finger while cutting his nail. it started bleeding for some time. I immediately applied breast milk on it. it isn't bleeding now.what to do if it starts bleeding when he wakes up?do I need to visit doctor?

A. it should not bleed if it's a small nip. carefully press the finger pad away from the nail to avoid nicking baby skin, and keep a firm hold on his hand as you cut or clip. take help of another adult to hold baby. It may be good idea to clip nails when baby is calm like when baby is feeding or sleeping If you accidentally nick the skin, Gently hold a piece of clean, damp cotton wool on the cut and apply a little pressure. The bleeding will soon stop.
