Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. first of all you will have to offer alternate milk to the child. along with breastfeeding you have to gradually start outside milk which can be either given directly or it can be mixed with food or milk shake or fruit shake.
at the night time you will have to to avoid sleeping with the child so that when the child doesn't see the mother the child will not ask for breastfeeding and if the child wakes up at that time someone else(father or relatives) can offer milk or any other food or water to the child.
weaning is a gradual process and may take around one or two mondths and sometimes up to six months in which you gradually decrease the brreast milk and then stop it.
if the child is not sucking, breast milk formation will decrease over time and when the child doesn't get milk on sucking the child will gradually stop taking and asking for breastfeeding .
RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl3 years agoA. You should actually not breast feed the child when the child is sleeping because it’s not correct you should only feed the child when your child is awake and demanding for the feed as that’s the right path and to go about it and if your child is waking up in the night and asking for a feed then you have to feed because this process can what is the time of 1 to 1 1/2 years as wellWrite Your Answer Here
