Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation bhey the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.h if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

You can go ahead with giving indirect steam to the child also yeah also UK nebulise your child child as well it would completely depend on the current situation that the child and so I would say steam and nebulisation or going to be very fruitful Ente current scenario for the child
