Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. you have to give only breastfeeding /milk to the child till completion of 6 months of age and before 6 months of age if you are giving any type of outside food or complementary feeeding it can cause digestion problem in the child.
no need to give water also because breast milk contains 80% of water and water also is given after six months of age only.
it is advisable to continue the the multi vitamin and supplement medicines given by your doctor

If your baby's doctor thinks it's necessary, you may have to supplement your baby with additional feedings of either pumped breast milk or infant formula. You can also try to pump and separate your foremilk from your hindmilk. Hindmilk is higher in fat and calories, which can help your baby gain more weight.
