Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. for big children it is important to increase the physical activity of the child during the daytime and also see that the child is drinking plenty of water and is having a good diet just before sleep but at the same time the diet should be easily digestible and not very heavy diet which is causing more gas formation because that also can lead to digestion problem and that can disturb the sleep.
also it is important to look for any environmental disturbance which is affecting the sleep like temperature variations as well as the mattress problem.
rule out constipation which might be causing gastric disturbance and change in sleep pattern
sleep will be taken according to the need of the child so if the growth of the child is proper do not worry much about the sleeping pattern and sleep hours and it will obviously change from time to time and thenr stabilize.
if overall the child is play full and is well responding then do not worry about the hours of sleep and they will not have any problem.
(please note if sleep is inadequate then growth will not be proper so ifd growth is proper then no need to worry about sleep)
