how many times poop is considered normal in 4 month old baby? completely breastfeeding

Author of questionMom of a 6 yr 3 m old girl5 years agoA. she used to pass 2-3 times times per day and the color was yellow but from last Saturday suddendly she pooped 8-9 times & the color was green consulted pediatric he said because of infection now from yesterday she pooped 6 time and color is yellow...I'm worried now she is k or not ?

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children5 years agoA. Some babies pass stools once in four or five days while some pass even more than five times a day which are perfectly normal in breastfed babies. If it's not regular, Touch and feel the baby's tummy. If it's hard or the baby is cranky or crying more than usual then u should consult with ur pediatrician. If not u can wait upto seven days. If it's multiple times a day, this doesn't necessarily mean any problem unless the stools are watery, or too hard, or has blood stains or the baby has a stomach pain or looks cranky or cries everytime he poops. In all these cases you should consult a doctor. Otherwise you need not worry.
