A. Freshly expressed or pumped milk can be stored: At room temperature (77°F or colder) for up to 4 hours. In the refrigerator for up to 4 days. In the freezer for about 6 months is best; up to 12 months is acceptable. Although freezing keeps food safe almost indefinitely, recommended storage times are important to follow for best quality.

A. Breast milk can be stored for longer time as well. Room temperature pumped milk should be consumed within 4 hrs. Refrigerated milk should be consumed within 24 hrs. Post that, you can deep freeze the milk in storage bags( specially for bm, check madela brand). But remember, never heat the bm on stove or microwave. Always take it out and let the temperature to normal, then put the bag or bottle in a hot bowl of water. The frozen milk should be taken out of the freezer n kept in refrigerator overnight to thaw. Then repeat as above.
