Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. Please continue the vitamin D3 supplement until you are able to expose the child to sunlight for at least 10 minutes daily. For infants under one year of age, if you are administering 400 units, you should provide 1ml daily, and if you are giving 800 units, the dosage should be 0.5ml every day. It is essential to ensure the child gets sunlight exposure for 10 to 15 minutes daily between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to maintain proper levels of vitamin D. If sunlight exposure is possiible, the vitamin D supplement can be discontinued. For children over one year of age, the recommended dose of vitamin D drops is 0.7ml per day from 800 units vitamin D drops.f
