A. Getting your child to sleep through the night without waking for feeds depends on age, weight, and feeding habits. Could you please tell me your baby’s age and weight? Because sleep and feeding needs vary a lot between, say, a 3-month-old and a 1-year-old. In general, here are some tips: 1. Check if Your Baby Is Ready to Sleep Through the Night Babies under 6 months usually still need 1–2 night feeds. After 6 months, many healthy babies (especially over 6.5 kg weight) can sleep 6–8 hours without feeding. 2. Increase Daytime Feeds Ensure your baby gets enough milk/solids in the day so they don't wake hungry at night. Cluster feed in the evening (feed more often in the 5–8 PM window). 3. Establish a Bedtime Routine Warm bath + dim lights + gentle massage + lullaby or soft music helps signal sleep time. Be consistent with timing. 4. Encourage Self-Soothing Try not to feed the baby immediately when they wake up—wait a few minutes to see if they resettle. If baby wakes often just for comfort, consider gradually reducing night feeds. 5. No Play or Talk During Night Wakes Keep night wakings quiet, dark, and boring—this helps them understand night is for sleep. 6. Sleep Environment Matters Room should be dark, quiet (or with white noise), and comfortably cool. If your baby is above 6 months and healthy, I can suggest a gentle night weaning plan too. Would you like a customized sleep + feeding schedule? Just tell me: Baby’s age & weight Number of times they wake up at night currently Whether they are on solids or only milk
