hi this is sridevi I would like to discuss my 4-year-old son's concentration and attention. He seems to get distracted easily. Is this normal for his age, or does he need an evaluation?

A. Hello! Average attention span can be around 10 minutes for a single chosen activity at this age. Expecting the child to sit still or concentrate for long period of time is not really realistic. Give small frequent encouraging tasks for your child. Be gentle in your prompting and redirection. Consult your doctor for guidance.
