Hi sir, My name is Aarthi. My son Tanush suffering from cold cough by birth now 2 months 4th week is running. I am using T mimic drops and nasoclear saline and nasal aspiration also as per doctor advise. But not recovering my son please suggest me for my son.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor accordinfg to the type of ytcough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
