Hi Sir, my daughter 2 m old suffering from not going stool for last 8 days onwards and releasing gas from bottom with much cry and very bad smell. Local doctor said to wait for some more days... dont know why. But kid is crying much while release gas. Plz guide us what to do

If your baby is gassy but not pooping, don't worry. These common symptoms are normal in babies as they learn how to feed and digest food. Your baby might be constipated.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. constipation is a very common problem in which diet modification needs to be done like including high fibres in the diet for which you can give seasonal fruits like papaya, watermelon and seasonal vegetables will also help you can give Daliya and oatsmeal also to your child which is rich in fibres and nutrients too.
giving excesss of milk may also cause constipation, so you should limit the quantity. if any medication is required yougt should take it under medical guidance only.lactulose or polyethylene glycol is of good help, sorbilene is also an option but you should give any medicine or suppository only when prescribed by yolur pediatrician.
