Hi sir. my child is having slight variation in body temperature... temperature is normal only but I can still sense the body heatness on him.. around his forehead,neck and stomach and al..

Author of questionGuardian of a 6 yr 2 m old boy3 years agoA. yhmk.yo7 so much mam. he was actively playing nd doing all activities but all.of a sudden his body temperature increases and night time and noon time .. I have given paracetamol syrup night time alone wen I noticed fever was 100 f .. now the temp is normal but heat of the body is still remain.. I have applied wet cloth on this head

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if neheded . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy tuuo decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .
