Hi sir.. My baby is sucking fingers all the time nowadays.. Is this good..?

A. Thumb sucking in infants is a very normal phenomenon and its called mouthing reflex and nothing to be worried about it just maintain proper hygiene and with time this thing will go .
In the toddlers thumb sucking habit is also seen many a times which could be phycological cause and feeling of insecfurity or some stress . Just try to make the child comfortable and divert in some activities also spend good time with the child .
In extreme case withdrawal can be tried with some solution available which are bitter like femite lotion . It needs to be applied locally .

A. There is no need to worry about it. Babies suck their fingers to beat away boredom and to keep their anxiety at bay. It helps your baby cope with the environment. It is an act of emotional maturity. It is a sign that the child is asserting independence. Rather than crying or seeking you out, he is using his own resources to adapt to his surroundings. Your baby will soon outgrow of this habit.
