A. It is very common that children less than 6 months of age may not pass stool for sometime 10 days also.
Slight discomfort as well as straining while passing urine and stool is also normal.
You have to just take care of colic painz as well as gas in the abdomen and do not worry about the frequency of the stool if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid.
please notex that intermittent crying that you see might be due to colic pain and not due to constipation.

If your baby is 1 month or older and is constipated (no pooping, or hard stool), you can try giving apple or pear juice (1 ounce a day for every month of life, so a 2-month-old would get 2 ounces). If that doesn't help after a day or two, call your pediatrician.
