A. It's common for babies around 11 months old to go through phases of picky eating, and they may prefer milk over solid foods. Here are some strategies to help encourage your baby to eat more solid foods: 1. Offer Small, Frequent Meals: At this age, babies often prefer smaller meals spread throughout the day. You can try offering solids in small portions 3-4 times a day along with snacks. 2. Variety and Texture: Introduce different textures and types of foods—soft fruits, vegetables, small pieces of cooked meat, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, or soft finger foods. Sometimes babies will refuse pureed food but enjoy the challenge of feeding themselves with finger foods. 3. Incorporate Milk into Meals: You can mix breast milk or formula into their meals (e.g., in porridge, oatmeal, or mashed vegetables) to help with the transition from milk to solids. 4. Create a Routine: Babies thrive on routine. Offering meals at the same times every day can help them become more accustomed to eating solids. 5. Avoid Pressure: It’s important not to pressure your baby to eat, as this can lead to more resistance. Try to make mealtime fun and relaxed. 6. Eat Together: Babies love to mimic, so eating meals together as a family can encourage your baby to try new foods by watching you and others eat. 7. Offer Milk After Meals: If she prefers milk all day, try offering it after solid meals to help reinforce the idea that food comes first. If you're concerned about your baby’s nutrition or eating habits, it's always a good idea to consult with your pediatrician to ensure she is getting the right amount of nutrients.
