Q.

Hi Sameer doctor, My kid is 3 years old.He is not speaking.If we tells anything,he is reacting.Also he is not showing interest in speaking

A. He is responding to noise and he is even telling the words like father,mother.When we are asking him to take some things also,he is doing

A. Is the child able to talk couple of words or nothing at all. If he didn't utter any words at all or not responding to sounds u may have to get his hearing test done. However if he is speaking few words occasionally, then it's ok. Every child is different and there could be early and late speakers. So u need not worry. The only key is to keep communicating with ur baby regularly. Question him and urge him to answer. Talk to him about everything that u see around. Tell more stories. A continuous verbal conversation with ur baby will improve his vocabulary and encourage him to speak more. Limited screen time can also help to improve kid's vocabulary.
