Q.

hi, recently I had breast abscess surgery and that surgery is so close to the areol. and my nipple is retracted too. Dressing is covering the areol and the nipple. how can I drain the milk? or will it be removed while doing the dressing.

A. Hello, your baby girl is 1 month old and you had undergone breast abscess surgery and the nipple on that side is covered with dressing so don’t give milk on that breast

A. since you are having a breast abscess it is better not to feed the baby from the breast till it resolves totally and there is proper healing you can simply Express the breast milk and throw it
