hi. my son is goin to be 5years old. He has got severe cough from almost 3 weeks now. consulted a doctor. he changed his medicines thrice. but no relief. Tried all home remedies as well. Can anyone suggest a good cough syrup for severe cough

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. it is in diagnosis of allergic cough cold .
here the child will have regular cough and cold which is usually not associated with fever .
it increases and decreases but does not get cured completely.
dr will give anti allergic medicine usually motelukast / levocetirizine. if its still not improving the next line of treatment will be inhaler therapy with mdi / nebulizer.
allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ cold water intake / dust / smoke / pollens) , fooxd , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweet food also.
body cannot sustain such allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evdening /night and morning.

keep a bowl of chopped onion near her bed apptox three feet far over night
take sunbathing daily with her head and ears covered in the morning
use Babyhug baby rub
