Q.

Hi.., My son is 4 & half months old. He has not pooped for the past 6 days. Usually he poops daily once or twice. Last week we started giving him Homemade rice cereal porridge & cerlac on alternative days basis once a day & breastfeeding every 3hrs once. Currently he is active, peeing as usual (10-15 times a day) & also farting, but not pooping. Is this normal or not. How to make my baby poop.

A. It is very common that children less than 6 months of age may not pass stool for sometime 10 days also. Slight discomfort as well as straining while passing urine and stool is also normal. You have to just take care of colic painx as well as gas in the abdomen and do not worry about the frequency of the stool if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid. please note that intermittent crying that you see might be due to colicx pain and not due to constipation.
