Q.

Hi, my son is 2.8 years old. I made a ragi malt powder (suggested by elders) mixed with millets (for 1 kg of ragi i added 1/4th of all millets each like foxtail millet, little millet, barn yard millet, kudo millet, pearl millet, jower, toor dal, whole wheat, non polish rice and few dry fruits). So i mix 2 spoons of this powder in water with jaggery and boil it. After it comes to room temperature i add milk. I heard that ragi contains iron and milk contains calcium and both should not be taken together. Is that true ? Shouldn’t i add milk for the malt ? Please suggest.

A. hello. you can add milk in it, as she is 2.8 years old, good to feed her all traditional family food. do not prepare seprare food for your child.
