Q.

hi my son is 14 months old...he had cold cough and fever last week...he is still recovering from the same ...cold and cough medicine is still ongoing...he hasn't passed motion from past three days ..he is having normal food without any resistance n crying ...my concern is he hasn't passed motion from past three days...is thr any medicine or anything we can do to pass the motion

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms lik ife cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
