Q.

Hi..My girl is 2 years and 5 months..Last Friday Saturday she was having 102 fever.From.sunday fever was not there but she is dull and sleeping after a short span of playing..Can you suggest what I can do?

A. Took her to hospital..Fever was not there now but she is dull ... she is sleeping after a short span of playing .

A. Fever is the illness caused by reaction of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body and only when the temperature is above 99F it is considered as fever, so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first line treatment this dose can be again repeated after every 5 to 6 hours if again required and you can also do cold sponging of the body to reduce fever in between the doses ,but if it continues further you should consult your doctor for proper treatment. if the temperature is not controlled by paracetamol alone meftal p can be given in between as a single dose but only under medical guidance.these medicci.ciines will also work to relieve any pain or body ache to a good extent. but in case of infection in which the fever is associated with other problems also it is recommended to get the clinical assessmentn done and get a proper treatment done by a doctor.
