Q.

Hi, my daughter is 6.5 months old. she rolls over and does mini push ups. when she rolls from back to tummy, she lifts her tummy to high level and tries to find her knees and moves back. But she doesn't crawl on her tummy yet. People say that by 6 months babies crawl on their tummy. But my daughter doesn't play much but keeps on screaming all the time. Do I need to check with paediatrician as she doesn't crawl on stomach?. how to encourage babies to play more? with best regards, Ashwini

A. Rolling over comes at 2-5 months of age.  Proper neck holding comes at 3-5 months of age. Commomly baby start to sit with support at 5-7 months of age and Sit without support at 6-8 months of age Baby start to crawl at 7-9 months of age Baby start to stand with support at 10-11 months of age And stand without support at 11-13 months of age Baby start to walk with support at 12-14 months of age and walk without support at 14 -15 months of age. Wait for some more days Encourage ur baby for each and every activities of ur baby Stay with ur baby only It will help  for  early achievement of millstones.

A. Hi. Please don't worry about it as your baby is doing fine according to her age. The movements which you mentioned, it is the beginning of crawling. crawling is a milestone and it doesn't happen overnight so please give a deaf ear to people because your child is almost there to reach her milestone.Every baby is different so are their milestones . Usually babies start to crawl between 6 months to 9 months and few babies doesn't crawl and they directly start walking . They start to stand with support between 9 months to 15 months onwards and starts walking by then. To encourage crawling give the baby enough tummy time and encourage to crawl by putting something which your baby likes the most. Give some time, your baby too will reach his/her milestones. But if you don't see any improvement after doing all these. then try consulting with a developmental paediatrician
